If you've used vm insertcd to insert a CD-ROM or DVD into your virtual machine, here's what you type to remove it again:

$ bigv vm removecd matt1

Currently, the dump of various statistics shows that the removal was successful.

Error: Device 'ide1-cd0' is locked while updating

You will see this error if your virtual machine has mounted the CD or DVD for access, and has locked the device. You will not be able to remove the CD while this is the case - under UNIXes you will need to use the umount command to unlock the device first. Failing that you will need to reboot your system.
