The imaging still hasn't finished, which could mean something has gone wrong. You can use "bigv vm connect testwindows" to see what's going on, or contact http://bigv.io/support for more help.------------------------------------------------------- Image: winweb2k8r2 - Root password: abc123 Distribution: winweb2k8r2 ------------- VM testwindows: 1 core, 2 GiB RAM, 50.0 GiB on 1 disc (£0.00) - Power: on CD-ROM: (none) Console users: TODO Disc vda: 50.0 GiB, sata grade Net : 213.138.101.78, 2001:41c8:51:14e:feff:ff:fe00:47a
Please note that at the moment, you will see the above error on every Windows installation. However if you want a login window ASAP, you are safe to run remote desktop and connect to the IP. You can use the Microsoft Remote Desktop client (built in to Windows, or a separate download for the Mac) or rdesktop for Linux. You run rdesktop like this:
$ rdesktop -u Administrator testwindows.default.matthew.uk0.bigv.io
Should result in a login screen within a few minutes:
You can then use the "root" password to log in as the Windows "administrator" user. The client should be updated to support this in the next week.
Licensing
During the (β) period, Bytemark will cover all licensing costs associated with Windows products, but only Windows Web Server 2008R2 will be available.
